Issued to the Hohner company in 1956, naming Kurt Mast as the inventor, this patent covers another of their plastic-combed harmonica designs, this one being Hohner's entry level chromatic range, the Chrometta series. Made in various sizes, the Chromettas (and the related Educator II chromatic) all had an injection molded comb with an integral slide channel:
The slide itself was another innovation, being divided horizontally into two for most of its length:
This design was also covered by US Patent 2815693, French Patent 1128333, British Patent 776107, Swiss Patent 331558 and Dutch Patent 88501. As far as I am aware, the Chrometta was Hohner's first cross tuned chromatic harmonica - for more details on this subject, please see FFAQ32.
