Granted in 1902 to Otto Wiedlich of Brunndöbra (now Klingenthal), this patent attempted to enhance the appeal of the harmonica and the accordion by combining them into a single instrument. The design is, in my opinion, let down by the fact that the harmonica appears to be mounted vertically, whereas every harmonica player I know prefers to play with his or her instrument in a horizontal position.
