German Patent 378100

Granted in 1922 to Walter Dietze of Fockbek bei Rendsburg, Germany. This design has a front and a rear set of reeds. Pushing a button closes off the reed nearer the mouthpiece and opens the reed behind it:

Presumably the rear set of reeds was intended to be tuned one semitone higher than the front set.
